Why is Camu Camu called a superfood?

  • Vitamin C promotes iron absorption, so people with iron overload – like hemochromatosis – may need to limit their intake of Camu Camu.

However, Camu is safe for most people, and vitamin C overload is rare because it is a water-soluble nutrient and therefore is not stored in your body. As long as you eat the right amount, you won’t get too much vitamin C.
